Hey guys and women! I see that a lot of the people starts getting back to their routines, back to work, some adults being sent back to the colleges and some children being sent back to schools which I am sure that some of the parents are a bit happy about that since with their children being sent back to school would give them a little relief or some room to breathe after trying to handle these wild children for a couple of the weeks due to Christmas break. My mother is a special aide at a middle school as she has been for more than a decade or two, she assists the children with some kinds of special needs and I think she has worked for so many years so I sometimes would ask her to retire so that I could have my mother at home without having to worry about if something was to happen to her there. For some reason, as the years goes by I starts getting more worried over her going to work because I believe that if she is to retire that she would have much less risks to her health and by retiring I believe that she will continue to be very healthy as she is now. When my aunt broke her ankle in different three or four places by falling over the steps outside of the house and we looked it as her just having a broken ankle but down the road after few days of breaking her ankle she passed away due to blood clot from it which that can be prevented only if the doctors over at ARH in South Williamson, Ky gives her blood thinners medicine as some of the people does especially after certain surgeries but unfortunately the doctors didn’t give her blood thinners medicine so in result of that we lost her. Breaking her ankle was what starts the dominos effect, from broken ankles in two or three parts to her death and I believe if I remember correctly that it was one weeks or no longer than two weeks after her surgery for her broken ankle she passed away.
So as simple to break bones or a small injury can lead to death if not being treated properly by the doctors and this what scares me a lot about my mother because I feel that when she retires or being home as much as possible that the chance of anything that would injure her would be very slim. I am very happy to know that she has decided that she will be retiring in the year of 2018. After this year, after this summer in the year of 2017 will be her last year before she retires and I am looking forward to that day.
1-5-2017 Tidbits
I almost decided that I wasn’t going to write an article for the blog tonight because tonight I am somewhat exhausted and not really in the mood for writing but I decided that I would just go ahead to do so and get done with it. With that I am not really in the mood for writing and that I almost decided to not blog tonight I am hoping that I will finish this article by about 1 o’clock tonight which is in an hour so that means I better get going with the tidbits for tonight so I hope some of you will enjoy some of the topics that I felt or wanted to share my opinions or thoughts about!
Deaf Kentuckians in Pike County
For while I have tried to find an information on how many Deaf and Hard of Hearing people who lives in Pike County in the state of Kentucky which is where I lives in. For a while I was thinking that there wouldn’t be a lot of Deaf people who lives in Pike County because I have gone through pretty much all the areas in Pike County of Kentucky so in a way I figured that by now I would know plenty of the people and I never could find anyone who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing that resides in Pike County. I found a Deaf couple who happens to live about ten miles away from me, actually I have known that for many years but I don’t really social with them as there is rarely a reason for us both to social unless there was a Deaf event that’s going on in Pikeville which I have attended once several years ago and I met them there for the first time but I never get to meet them again after that as there was no Deaf events going on in the Pike county for several years since that time which disappoints me a bit.
So, this entire time, I had thought that there isn’t many Deaf or Hard of Hearing people who resides in Pike County as I never sees them and as far as I know were three including myself. I decided to tweet on Twitter asking anyone who works in the government for the state of Kentucky to see if they have some sort of statistic or anything that would give me a count of how many people who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing that lives in Pike County of Kentucky and I received a DM via Twitter from a Kentucky district representative (district 93) named Rep. Chris Harris telling me that he had got an information that I have looked for. Asked me for my e-mail address for him to send the file that contains the statistic of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in all of counties for the state of Kentucky so of course I gave him my e-mail address for him to send me. After I got the e-mail from Rep. Chris Harris within’ five minutes after giving him my e-mail address, I opened the document which is a file that have information on the counts of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in each county in the state of Kentucky so I scrolled down until I sees Pike County. I saw Pike County then I looked at the numbers of the people who lives in Pike County and then I looked at the numbers of people who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing that lives in Pike County of Kentucky I was shocked immediately. In Pike County of Kentucky has 65,024 totals of people who lives in that county and out of 65,024 there is 10,404 Deaf or Hard of Hearing people who lives in Pike County of Kentucky.
I am reminded that the statistic is a bit outdated as it is 2010-2011 demographic for the state of Kentucky, but that numbers should be still almost the same or a bit more since not too long ago the state of Kentucky grew a few more thousands of people who lives here so figuratively it is about the same numbers for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing People or just a few more added to it I am sure. The point is that I didn’t know that there is over 10,000 Deaf and Hard of Hearing people who lives in the same county here in Kentucky that I lives for all my life. I have only moved 4 times but still in Pike County of Kentucky, so the question is that since I have the numbers of how many Deaf and Hard of Hearing people who lives in the same county in same state that I lives in? I greatly appreciate Representative Chris Harris for getting in touch with me and gave me the information that I have asked around so that I could at least figure out how many is there Deaf people who lives around me.
I wish that I could be able to know who is 10,000+ Deaf and Hard of Hearing people but no one in the governments or no one is by law allowed to give me their information except that the counts for each county in the state of Kentucky.
So, if you are Deaf or Hard of Hearing who lives in Pike County, Kentucky and don’t mind raising your hands that you are one of them 10,000+ by contact me here using the contact page on here or find me on social media and tell me from there! I would love to meet them all and to learn about each other’s!
Here is the statistic for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the state of Kentucky.

My Favorite 2016 Moments
As I have said in my previous article “Reflection of ’16 & Happy New Year ’17” that the weather was very weird. Besides that, I took a short vacation for 3 days or 4 days (I can’t remember?) in Tennessee for the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg. I must admit that this was my fourth or fifth times visiting there, it is starting to burn me out a bit and I am hoping that the next vacation if we ever have another one that we would be going to somewhere better like my dream place to visit which is New York City! Although I would suffice to vacation on beach, whether it would be in Virginia Beach which I have vacationed there once before or Myrtle Beach in North Carolina which I have never visited before. Another one is that the year 2016 was the year that I have gotten the most views and visitors of all-time for this blog JoshiesWorld.com so you all I am very grateful for that! Let’s break that record by spreading the words about this blog, either by sharing some of the articles around on social media like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or others and share a link to JoshiesWorld.com everywhere shall we?! Truthfully guys and women I truly appreciate all your time that you have gave me by reading this blog in the year of 2016!

Southside Theaters and Riverfill 10 Cinemas Again with Closed Captions
The negative thing about the year of 2016 was that I have tried to push these two theaters/cinemas because these both are the main ones that most of the people goes to watch the new movies at to stop breaking Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) law by not providing equal access that others has. I have empathized to them that if they are providing audio for the movies in both of their theaters or cinemas then they are being unfair to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing people especially since that now I have a information that we have over ten thousand of them here in the Pike County of Kentucky! Over ten thousand Deaf and Hard of Hearing people who lives in Pike County of Kentucky, both theaters or cinemas is in Pike County of Kentucky and they still don’t provide closed captions for them? I have personally e-mailed them many times, called both as well trying to pressure them to provide closed captions for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing moviegoers that goes to their theaters or cinemas to watch the new movies that comes out but unfortunately, they decided to be stubborn about it by refusing to provide closed captions. I have also given them the resource that they need to get so that they can for once of all to provide closed captions for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing people which is starts with buying a few Sony Entertainment Access glasses. The Sony Entertainment Access glasses would cost them a few hundred of dollars that they can get the money back for them easily with our money paying for the tickets to watch the movies. As much as I have pressured these theaters or cinemas, I had no luck in getting through their heads that what they are doing is breaking Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for several years now since the closed captions for the theaters has been out for few years now and I believe that my most activism of the 2016 year was this. Now that the year 2016 is over and we are in the year 2017 now does NOT means that I retreat from pressuring them to start providing closed captions for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing moviegoers in the Pike County of Kentucky.
If you would like to be involved and help to make it happen that the theaters or cinemas in Pike County of Kentucky to start providing closed captions, then please feel free to contact me through the contact page or find me on social media. I believe that if it is more than myself then there can be a better chance of successfully getting them to realize that what they have done is wrong as they provide audio for the hearing moviegoers while not providing the closed captions for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing moviegoers. If they still don’t want to provide closed captions but want to be fair, then disconnect every speaker to not provide any audio/sounds for the movies!
Cochlear Implants is NOT a “Miracle Cure”
It is about time that the media starts to understand that the cochlear implants is not the cure for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. For many years, the media have shared some of the stories about the people being able to hear for the first time after having their cochlear implants activated. Now there are a lot of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing people starts to realize that many of us in the Deaf community have been right all along that the cochlear implants are NOT the answer and that American Sign Language is the answer. In fact the media have recognized that many of doctors and audiologists have been misleading many parents of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing children that the cochlear implants would be the “miracle cure” for their Deaf or Hard of Hearing newborn baby is accomplished as many of us in the Deaf community have tried to explain that the cochlear implants does NOT what the media thought is that with cochlear implants that it would allow the Deaf or Hard of Hearing to be “normal” as any other human beings. The media have gotten the message that the Deaf community have tried for many years saying that many of us Deaf and Hard of Hearing do not want to be fixed as we are just fine with the way we are as we looks at it as our culture.
Although goes as far as for the media, we still have a lot to go to make sure that more media recognizes that many audiologists and others mislead the parents of the newborn Deaf or Hard of Hearing child with false information about the cochlear implant or other options for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing children.
Here’s the article that I am talking about by The Insider: http://www.thisisinsider.com/why-deaf-people-turn-down-cochlear-implants-2016-12
Repeal Obamacare Would Be a Mistake
Some of the people noticed that the most aggressive action in repealing Obamacare is the vice president-elected Mike Pence and the President-elect Donald Trump is being almost silent about Obamacare repeal. I truly don’t see the reason in repealing Obamacare because Obamacare have become the best healthcare act that any presidents have done and many of the articles in the search engines will tell you that. In fact, after Donald Trump won the election to become the next President of the United States, he has said that he admits that he likes what Obamacare offers and that he would keep the most of them from Obamacare but renaming Obamacare to something else. Originally it has been Healthcare Act, in fact it was intended to be called Healthcare Act but for some reasons that it caused the Republicans to be crybabies and called it “Obamacare” so the current President Barrack Obama just went with it. So, the name of “Obamacare” wasn’t from Barrack Obama, the naming of Obamacare comes from Republicans as when at the first that Barrack Obama had written a new healthcare act and he titled it “Healthcare Act” but somehow Republicans renamed it to Obamacare.
Nonetheless, repealing Obamacare would be a mistake because repealing Obamacare will cost a lot more money to repeal Obamacare and nothing can get better than what Obamacare offers so only thing that they can improve is to make it worse than what we have at this moment. I don’t think anyone should be so quick to encourage Obamacare to be repealed right away, if the Americans wants to change Obamacare then I suggest that the Trump administration to come up a replacement BEFORE repealing Obamacare because if repealing Obamacare with nothing else to replace right away then we will be in trouble with our insurance or our Medicare.

I need some of your help if you don’t mind guys and women! I don’t know if you have read my other article calls “Quality Over Quantity” and if you haven’t then I suggest that you read that one there.
