Thought?:
There are several streaming devices such as 4K smart television’s own built-in, Amazon’s streaming devices, even Xbox One or newer has the capability to stream and many others including the like of Roku. In my opinion, there is no streaming device that is better than the Apple TV 4K because it boasts several services (apps), several games and whatnot. It has most of the networks that you like, at least the popular ones such as Disney, DC Comics, Marvel (via Disney+), Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, TNT, USA, AMC, The CW, MTV, History, Discovery, CNN, Travel TV, TrueTV, HBO, Showtime, Starz, and several more that you can download on Apple TV 4K (or latest Apple TV) via it’s Apps store to watch. If you are bored, Apple TV 4K or even the latest Apple TV (not 4K) has several games that you can download (some free some costs) via Games app to play such as classic Sonics games, Angry Birds Racing and many others.
As recent, Apple launched its own streaming service called Apple TV+ which is now on the latest Apple TV and Apple TV 4K devices along with its new arcade app where it has a bit over a hundred games that you can play. To subscribe to Apple TV+ it would cost you $4.99 a month and for Apple’s Arcade, it would cost you the same as Apple TV+ do which is $4.99 a month. Both have a 7-days trial that you can try before you decide if you want to subscribe to one of them or both.
Like I said, it has a lot of things that you can do with the Apple TV 4K which that is something I like because it allows me to be entertained as if I am to get bored watching then I would just simply head over and play some games or whatnot. These features that I have listed are not the only things that they have, they also have the music, podcast which is something that I don’t use since I am Deaf myself and it also has Photo app that pulls the existing photos from your iPhone or iPad.
However, I do have a tiny problem with the Apple TV 4K. Well, two problems actually. One is that in the long run, the remote controller would start messing up such as I used to be able to press on the side of a remote controller to rewind or fast-forward but now I actually have to repeat them until I finally get them to rewind or fast-forward so sometimes that can get a bit annoying especially when you try to rewind or fast-forward you would end up not being able to stop rewinding or fast-forwarding or that it would pause instead of rewinding or fast-forwarding.
Two is that there are some games, more advanced games they require you to have a different controller in order to play the games on the Apple TV device. No, you cannot use the remote controller that it came with. You have to get a Bluetooth gaming controller to play some of the games, a bit more advanced games that are but there are still plenty of games that you can just use the Apple TV’s own remote controller. I don’t know if that is a big let-down, I necessarily would say no but I will say that I do hope they will fix that in the next new generation which they have not launched one for a while now as the Apple TV 4K has been out for a long while now so it is unknown if they are launching the next generation soon or for another year.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely yes, without a hesitation I do especially if you are shopping for some streaming device that can handle the power especially for gaming and as well that it comes packed with so many features such as several network services (apps), games, Arcade, Apple TV+, Music, Podcast and some more – also it looks so beautiful in 4K especially during the screensaver that Apple produce!
I would have given these five stars but due to a tiny problem with Apple’s remote controller and that some of their games required to have a different controller (Bluetooth gaming controller) in order to play them so that caused one star off. Also, it is capable of connecting to Bluetooth devices so if you have wireless/Bluetooth speakers such as Beats pill and whatnot Apple TV will connect them which that works beautifully! It also has airplay capability which that means you can mirror your iPhone, iPad or Macbook Pro/Air right to your TV by connecting both through the Airplay feature on both devices!
It has three choices I believe. One is the latest Apple TV (32GB), Apple TV 4K (32GB) and Apple TV 4K (64GB). I have Apple TV 4K (64GB) over a year now, brought it from Staples in Pikeville, Ky and it has become the device that I use to watch the TV on a daily basis.
Pros
- Loads of Apps such as TV networks, Amazon Shopping App, Utility Apps, Weather apps and many more. It literally has a load of apps to download!
- It has games apps with several games AND Arcade App that you can subscribe monthly for free games.
- It has Apple’s own new streaming service, Apple TV+
- It is powerful, it can handle many things.
- It shows 4K beautifully, even if just HD it still shows so much clarity and almost realistic!
- It has 2 options, 32GB or 64GB of hard drive spaces!
- It has Bluetooth capability to connect Bluetooth devices such as speakers and whatnot!
Cons
- In the long run, it’s remote controller can get a bit of messy.
- Some games require a Bluetooth gaming controller instead of using its own remote controller.
