Apple Watch Series 6

I was attempted to purchase Apple Watch Series 6 back in September when they released the product, but my mother wanted to purchase it as one of my Christmas presents for me, and it took both of us a while to decide whether I would buy it or she buy it for Christmas. I initially decided that I would be buying Apple Watch Series 6, then my mother came in and wanting to comprise with me, saying that she wants to go half on it and allow me to have it as an early Christmas present, but I kept on resisting. A few weeks later, my mother kept trying to talk me into allowing her to pay for it entirely as a Christmas present after she has seen that I didn’t want much of anything this year for Christmas as this year it was probably the fewest presents that I wanted then all of Christmas in the past. So, she pressured me even more into allowing her to pay entirely for the Apple Watch Series 6, and I gave in, so I let her get it for one of my Christmas presents for me instead of me paying for it, which I have done so all of other Apple watch series. Thanks, mom, for getting me an Apple Watch Series 6 for Christmas along with the rest of the other Christmas presents!

I have decided to go for Apple Watch Series 6 with space gray aluminum 44mm with Inverness green sport loop, which I was not planning on using because every new series that comes out, I would put it on my noir Hermes band which my mother brought me last Christmas.

I have been wearing the Apple Watch Series 4 for two years; I pre-ordered that watch almost immediately after seeing that they came out with a significant feature, their ECG feature. I skipped series 5 because they did not have anything substantial to win me over because only the most significant difference between series 4 and series 5 is the always-on feature. Back then, I felt that it wasn’t too important that I would want to upgrade. Two years fast-forward, they released this new Apple Watch Series 6, and it wins me over to make an upgrade from series 4 that I have been wearing for two years because they have more than one new feature. From series 4 to series 5, the only key feature was the always-on feature, but it was not a must. The difference from series 4 to series 6 is that always-on feature, compass which they call a true north compass, blood oxygen sensor that can read your blood oxygen, which is useful to go with your heart reading, two processors newer, a little improved battery run and sleep tracker. Back to the compass, series 4 did not have its own compass, vital to GPS. I believe all of the series do have GPS but not compass. With the compass, you can see your elevation, incline, a compass itself, and whatnot, which is excellent for an outdoor person. Compass was first introduced on the Apple Watch Series 5, but it is new for me as I skipped series 5, but Apple Watch Series 6 has an improved compass from the series 5. Apple Watch Series 6 comes with a first brand new U1 chip, 2nd generation heart rate, always-on altimeter, Sp02 and V02max, which is something that series 4 or 5 does not have, including the new blood oxygen sensor. Apple Watch Series 6 also have an improved battery run, which I mention. Not only that, but it also would charge faster than the series 4 or even series 5 one as it has 303.8 mAh (series 4 has 292 mAh, series 5 has 296 mAh). There are a lot more options that you can get with Apple watch series 6 that you could not get from their series 5 or 4, that is the colors such as space gray, silver, gold, blue, red, graphite and the choice of case’s material such as aluminum, titanium and stainless steel.

There are a few new differences, the five most significant differences from series 4: the always-on, blood oxygen, compass, sleep tracker, and improved battery-run. From series 5 is blood oxygen (SpO2 monitoring), 2.5x brighter always-on retina LPTO OLED display, faster charging, improved battery run, more colors, and more materials choice. If you have series 4 or older, I do recommend an upgrade, but if you have series 5, I might be more hesitant to recommend an upgrade at least until next year unless you want blood oxygen monitoring thanks to the new Sp02 sensor, 2.5 brighter always-on display, 2nd generation ECG and a bit longer battery run then go for it!

I am rating Apple Watch Series 6 a 4.3, which translates really great.

Bottom Line

Apple Watch Series 6 reigns the king of all smartwatches! Apple Watch Series 6 have a new sensor, a blood oxygen (Sp02) sensor that would let you monitor your blood oxygen, and that is great to go with your heart monitoring! Apple Watch Series 6 has improved battery life, 303.8 mAh coming from 296 mAh for Apple Watch Series 5 or 292 mAh from Series 4. It has a 2.5x brighter always-on LPTO OLED display, which is when your watch is not being looked at. It also comes with many features such as a sleep tracker, 2nd generation heart optical heart sensor, a true north compass, a U1 chip, and an ultra-wideband radio, which is useful for tracking other devices or connecting with other devices nearby. I highly recommend Apple Watch Series 6 for anyone looking to upgrade from Apple Watch Series 4 or older. If you have an apple watch series 5, I am more hesitant to recommend it. I would almost say to wait until the next one for series 7 to see what they come up with. Still, suppose you need or want blood oxygen, a bit longer battery, faster processors, 2nd generation heart sensor, more extended wireless connectivity, faster charging, 2.5x brighter always-on display. In that case, it is worth upgrading from series 5 to 6.

I am rating Apple Watch Series 6 a 4.3, which translates really great.
