MultiTopics 9-30-2024

I hope that every one of you is doing well! I have not written an article in a long while, especially with more than a topic. I went through two holidays, I believe, which were Christmas and New Year. Many things have been happening around here that I could barely find any time to write an article or a review, especially amid these holidays and having to go to a few appointments or meetings – quite a lot in a short time! But here I am writing a new article for once. However, this article will take some time to complete and publish. When I write an article with more than one topic, I always take the time because I write for each topic at a time. Hopefully, some topics might be interesting for you to read, and as well, having something that you can read for a while or only read a topic, then take a break and come back to read another topic! As some of you know, I have called two different titles for an article like this, one with more than one topic, such as tidbits, and then I renamed it to snippets. After getting feedback from some people suggesting that it should have a better title than snippets and that the title should make more…

The 23andMe Experience And Finding A Family

A few businesses out there let us discover the family members we might need to be aware of; two of the most popular companies are Ancestry (also AncestryDNA) and 23andMe. They focus on finding our roots in our DNA, where our ancestry originated, what ethnicities we have, and getting help with our family tree. They would suggest or hint that someone might be my relative, so they added them to my family tree to let me know how they relate to me. Both of them have a tool that helps us find out where our ancestry root is and what we are in term of ethnicity. That tool I am talking about is that they would ship us a tube for us to take a spit in and then ship them back to them for them to do research in our DNAs to pinpoint what we are. Also, do we have family members we might not know? I went for both. I used 23andMe to find what I am, and then they will try to match my DNA with other family members I might not know. They would send a long list of different person names and compare my DNA with theirs, such as the percentage of the chance that we are related. I used Ancestry (they are also AncestryDNA)…

Hey guys and ladies! I hope that all of you are doing well! I know that this year hasn’t been too good to any of us thanks to the virus pandemic, as it unexpectedly disrupts many of our routines on the business level and as well on a personal level. I hope that all of you are protecting yourself if not for your elderly family members or friends and the people with health conditions since we know that anyone who is elder or who has health condition is the ones at the highest risk if they are exposed to COVID-19. I know it isn’t easy to distance ourselves from the elders or people with health condition ones to protect them, but there is always a way to take advantage of modern technology such as video chat. The more people who follow what the health officials ask of us, such as wearing masks and social distances at least six feet or further and washing our hands thoroughly, the quicker we can beat the invisible enemy of ours. If you refuse to do that, then at least do one right thing: to distance yourself from the elder ones or those who have health conditions because doing so would mean you would show them the respect they would for you. Just because you…

Hello everyone! I know I have not written a snippets article in a great while, and I would like to apologize for that. I have been swamped lately, especially with everything that has been going on this year, as this year of 2020 has been so awful to me, which I will share about that in one of the topics below. Here we are; I hope that all of you enjoy at least one subject in this snippets article, and as always, if you have any suggestions for a topic that you would like for me to talk about or share on, please feel free to contact me with a topic suggestion. I hope that all of you are doing great and as well enjoying whatever that we have left of the summer as we are approaching the fall quickly. While you all are enjoying what is left of summer, please do so safely, especially that we are still in the middle of the pandemic, and it does not look like it is going away or down enough to where it can be safe enough for us to be out doing things. In case if you are new here, so you know, you can click the “Show Topics List” below here, which that will show you all of the topics…

Nyle DiMarco And The Racist Fraternity Kappa Gamma

Someone has mailed me a few videos of Kappa Gamma fraternity, some personal and some public that has a few well-known Deaf people in it such as Nyle DiMarco. I have a video of two videos that I have put together; they said that it’s from their spring 2011 march and also their final 2011 march with Nyle DiMarco participating in the march as one of the members. The reason I am posting this video is that there is a fiasco with the Gallaudet University and their fraternity Kappa Gamma. Many people have put much of evidence, stories, complaints, and whatnot out there on the internet, so I felt that this video should also be put in there with them so that people can be aware of this. So those people who are outsiders can get an idea of what and how Kappa Gamma looks like at Gallaudet University. Recently Nyle DiMarco has dotted out his name for his comedy series show with Spectrum Originals channel owned by Charter Communications under David Dae Kim’s production company 3AD and Melrose Placed. It has me wondering if Charter Communications, David Dae Kim’s production company 3AD and Melrose Placed are even aware of what Nyle DiMarco did? Are they aware that Nyle DiMarco is a member of one of the most racist fraternities…

Blackface Social Media Post By Belfry Middle School Teacher

There is news swirling around all over here in Belfry, Ky and in Pike County, Ky that there is a teacher who works at Belfry Middle School had taken a photo on Snapchat using a blackface painting or alike to mock a policy that Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear committed to giving free healthcare to the black and BIPOC (black and indigenous people of colors) community (read about it here). Here is the article that talks about this fiasco that is going on around here in Pike County, Ky; however, there is one problem that they aren’t naming someone, and I always believe in naming people, especially if they need to be held accountable for their behaviors or their wrongdoings.

Pike Schools investigating alleged blackface social media post by a teacher by Chris Anderson at Mountain Top Media.

You would see such local news like Mountain Top Media and others who are afraid to hold people accountable for their actions, which I think is wrong because then how would people learn their lesson? And for that, I am naming her along with the evidence.

International Deaf Awareness Month

It is that time of the year again, as we are at the beginning of September in the year 2019 and it is the month of International Deaf Awareness Month! Every year in September is a celebration for the deaf and hard of hearing community but at the same time, we also use that opportunity or a platform to raise awareness to the public so as to educate the public about the community. Educating the public about many things that are valued in the Deaf community, such as its culture and as well each sign language. As for me here in United States, American Sign Language is not the only sign language because every country have their own country such as British Sign Language (BSL), Mexican Sign Language (LSM), Australia Sign Language (Auslan), French Sign Language (LSF), South African Sign Language (SASL), Korean Sign Language (KSL) and others so you get the idea that most of the countries have their own sign languages including the one here in the United States of America which is American Sign Language but the United States is not the only one county that use American Sign Language since Canada also use American Sign Language as one of their primary sign language along with another one which is Quebec Sign Language (LSQ). So, a lot…

Time for other snippets where I will share some opinions, some sort of reviews, sharing some little things about some things and as well talking about some stuff but in short as possible instead of a full-blown article on one subject. In case if you are new and don’t know what snippets article are all about, it is more than one topic in an article instead of only one article on one subject so that it can give you the readers something more to read in one place rather than going one by one for each topic that may interest you. I know I haven’t written anything in a pretty long time ever since the last article came out about exposing a Deaf person’s social security which you can find it here, I have been so busy and when I finally had the time to write some I ends up having some problem with my health (nothing major), then recovered and then got so busy and repeats so I almost couldn’t find any time to write. Even right now I am having a little hard time dealing with my right rib for some reason but I thought that I better just start writing before I keep you all too long waiting for something new from me and I figured that…
