Merry Christmas!
I hope that all of you enjoy Christmas this year while keeping yourselves safe from being exposed to COVID-19! I know that it is not going to be the Christmas that we always looked forward to every year where we get to spend some time with family members or friends and celebrate Christmas with Christmas dinner. This Christmas in the year 2020 is different, but here is something that we have to remember: by forcing ourselves to stay home and not allowing anyone to visit or allow us to visit others so that all of us get to continue to live to see each other again later. Because if we ignore our responsibility, be selfish, risk others, and be exposed to COVID-19, which can end our lives, we would not be able to celebrate future Christmas with them again. So, we got to remember that staying home and making sure that our family members or friends to do the same so that we can celebrate many Christmas in the future rather than risking ourselves to be exposed to a deadly virus that could just easily prevent us from doing so. Yes, it is painful, and it is saddening for us. This is why we should take advantage of the technology to celebrate Christmas with them virtually so that we can get to celebrate Christmas with them in person in the future! By celebrating Christmas with others virtually, I mean such video chat such as Skype, Facebook Messenger video chat, Zoom, and others. I recommend Skype because they have unlimited time that we can video chat with others, Facebook Messenger video chat is unlimited as well, but Zoom is not as Zoom only allow us 40 minutes. If we need more than that with Zoom, we would have to pay for premium, but with Skype or Facebook Messenger video chat, it is free.
What about Christmas presents?! Do what my uncle Ronnie did. He brought over some gifts and left them on the porch; then he left without us noticing so that none of us would risk ourselves to COVID-19 because it is better to be safe than to be sorry. Have someone bring presents over to your front door, leave them there and then get in their vehicle to blow the horn to let you know that they have left gifts over for you. Get them to bring them in the house but not open them yet, wait until they get home and make a plan for everyone to meet up virtually so that every one of you can video chat while opening all of your presents along with others opening theirs! Buy a small number of foods, share recipes with them so that they can cook however you would cook yours, and schedule the time for all of you to gather to video chat to eat Christmas dinner together virtually! I know you prefer to do so in person, so do I, but at this time, it is better for our safety so that we can live for another day to spend time with them later in person when COVID-19 finally disappears. It is better than not spending any time with them at all on Christmas! Take advantage of technology and celebrate Christmas!

My Opinion Of The United States Election Of 2020.
Here are some of my opinions on the United States election of 2020. There are good and bad sides to every election, so this election makes no difference from previous elections. The good side is that the United States of America finally chooses the right one to lead the country, as the majority of the United States has chosen Joe Biden to be the next president and Kamala Harris to be the next vice president of the United States starting on January 20, 2021. I am actually very relieved about that because, as an American, I was so embarrassed to have Donald Trump as president and Mike Pence as vice president of the United States for the past four years since January 20, 2017. However, most Americans were not chosen because they won by having the most electoral votes. The majority of Americans wanted Hillary Clinton as president with Tim Kane as vice president but lost due to the electoral votes. But that is over with now because finally, the new president-elect and vice president-elect won both popular votes and electoral votes, which means Trump/Pence lost both popular/electoral votes. President-elect Joe Biden and vice president-elect Kamala Harris will have a huge mess to clean after once they are sworn in office in January. The United States election of 2020 was a mess due to several attempts to cheat by the outgoing American’s president Donald Trump and the fact that at this day president of the United States is still Donald Trump, who happens to do everything within’ his power to kill the democracy in the United States of America by trying to twist some people’s arms who has a responsibility to certify the votes to block their own citizen’s votes which that adds a new layer to already mounting layers of embarrassment that Trump/Pence administration has done.
The inauguration day on January 20, 2021, cannot come any faster. That constant embarrassment stops, but I doubt it will even stop because Donald Trump will continue at it even after inauguration day. Donald Trump is known for refusing to lose anything, including losing the election of being re-elected as a president for another four years. As I said, the United States election of 2020 has a good side and the bad side. The bad side is that in the United States election of 2020 overall, Democrats loses significantly even though they maintain the majority of the house for another two years and that Democrats have won two seats of the senate but hasn’t won the majority of the senate yet as there is two senates runoff election in Georgia which was flipped for Joe Biden. That two senate runoff election in Georgia will determine the majority of the Senate in January; it has to be both democrats who won the senate runoff in Georgia to win the majority of the senate, with vice president Kamala Harris being the tiebreaker. Still, if one democrat won the senate and one republican won the senate in Georgia, then the GOP (Republican) will maintain the senate’s majority. So, for the goals that president-elect Joe Biden and vice president-elect Kamala Harris to be met, they would like the democrats to be the majority of both house and senate. Although I feel that there maybe one or two republicans that will sometimes side with democrats because of Joe Biden as Joe Biden is known for convincing some republicans to side with the democrats, that will be once in every a while.
UPS Is Telling Drivers To Not Pick Up Some Big-Name Stores Shipments
This may be bad news for many people who like to shop some presents from the like of Nike, Macy’s, Gap, Hot Topic, Newegg, and a few more because UPS have told their drivers to not pick any shipments from these big names stores due to that we are in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The news is coming from The Hill; I am sharing this part of the snippets so that more people can be aware of UPS’s new restrictions on some of the shipments, especially coming from the big-names popular companies that ship their products frequently. If you wondered why you don’t get anything from there, maybe in time for Christmas or past Christmas, you now know why and I don’t think that this is a good thing, especially for these businesses right now as every business is already struggling worse thanks to COVID-19 pandemic.

Sure, they still have two more popular shippers such as United States Postal Service and FedEx. Still, my guts tell me that they are planning on doing the same thing that UPS did if they have not already done because since that is a holiday, this means a surge in shipments that equals double or even triple the chance of being exposed to COVID-19. If USPS or FEDEX decides to take over, that is good for them. Still, I think that they will have to make a strategy on how to do so while at the same time figuring out how to strictly keep them safe from being exposed to COVID-19 because we know that COVID-19 is deadlier than FLU, so if anyone has been exposed to them then their life would be automatically up in the air on whether they would make it through or not.
Kentucky’s Council Rejected Request For Independent Prosecutor in Breonna Taylor’s Death Case
Kentucky’s advisory council has unanimously denied an independent prosecutor’s request in Breonna Taylor’s death case because they said they did not have the authority or power to appoint one. Still, Breonna Taylor’s family noted that Kentucky’s advisory council has the ability to do so. I think it is shameful; I am sharing my opinion about this because I am a Kentuckian myself, and I am so ashamed of how my commonwealth is doing about Breonna Taylor’s death. Breonna Taylor’s case is in Louisville, Kentucky, a Democratic-controlled city part of Kentucky, but what we forget is that Louisville’s law side controls corrupt LMPD (Louisville Metro Police Department). The oversight of that is a Republican attorney general Daniel Cameron. It is no wonder that Daniel Cameron did not present the jury the option to charge murder-related charges. People over in Louisville, Ky were right about that Kentucky’s attorney-general mischaracterized the grand-jury proceedings and was using these jurors as a shield to deflect accountability and responsibility for charging decisions. After many found out that Daniel Cameron didn’t give them the option or recommend any murder charges for the police officers that were involved in the shooting of Breonna Taylor Daniel, Kentucky Attorney-General Daniel Cameron admitted that he did not recommend any murder charges to the jury but said that he presented the case thoroughly and completed to the jurors. Still, the jurors beg to differ as they came forward to say that is not true.
I was hoping that the commonwealth of Kentucky somehow does the right thing, bringing justice for Breonna Taylor, but with my heart-stricken, they did not, and not only that, it makes me sick to my stomach to see that Kentucky’s council denied a request for an independent prosecutor. Do the right thing seriously, Louisville, Ky! Kentucky is full of racists; it is a blood-red state, which is also no wonder, but they had the opportunity to at least make a first step toward starting doing the right thing, but they blew that. Kentucky’s own Republican Attorney-General did not present the grand jury with an option to indict anyone with murder charges related, so that is why Breonna Taylor’s family ask for an independent prosecutor for Breonna Taylor’s death case. I am a white man myself, I am a racist who has been doing everything to unpack myself to do the right thing, and it is something that I will have to do for probably the rest of my life thanks to the old systemic racism that taught us society not to treat all of our other people who look different the same as we would who look like ourselves which is unacceptable now. I hope that there would be finally justice done in Louisville, Kentucky. I hope that Louisville, Kentucky, especially the advisory or prosecutors council realize that what they are doing isn’t right.

Texas Is Not The United States!
What is up with people over Texas acting as if Texas is the United States when they are not as it is only merely a state just as many of other states in the United States?! Texas has a saying that everything is big in Texas, and I call that bullcrap now for what they are doing now. I am talking about Texas’s decision to sue the battleground states in the 2020 election, such as Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, alleging that these states have unlawfully enacted changes to their voting laws. As I said, Texas thinks that Texas is the United States or a country controlling all of the states and that whatever the laws that Texas has is also the laws of other states when that is not the case because every state has different laws which are within’ their rights to do so by every state’s legislation. But Texas wants to try to control other states’ elections and overturn the people’s will in their different states?! Every state has different laws on how they want to do the election, and they have every right to do just that, just as Texas does in their state. Back off and stay in your own state Texas! What they are doing tells me one thing is that they unquestionably meddle in their elections to get what they want now that we are seeing how Texas is trying to do with other states which do not belong to Texas as Texas belongs to the United States as many of other states but not a state belonging to another state!

Are You A Coffee Drinker?
Any of you like drinking coffee? I have been in a love-hate relationship with coffee; I have quit drinking coffee one day after thinking that they are nasty, and one day I was in the mood for some coffee, so I went back to drinking coffee again. After buying a new coffee mug, a JoshiesWorld’s coffee mug, I have decided to go back to try drinking coffee and committed to them. I decided to do some shopping for some coffee; I already own a K-Cup 2.0 special, so I look for some different k-cup coffee, and I have come across a few different K-Cup coffee flavors that I have decided to purchase. Of course, all of them are Starbucks, but three are pumpkin spice, pecan maple, and mocha. I also brought original creamer liquid (mostly for my mother and stepfather) and cafe mocha creamer liquid because I figured it would taste so good with Starbuck’s mocha K-cup coffee. After trying all of these flavors, with different creamers and sugars, I think I am now a coffee drinker for sure this time instead of undecided for many of the times. As long as I have Starbucks Mocha K-Cup with Cafe Mocha Creamer, I will continue drinking coffee and even with plain coffee such as Starbucks French or Pike Place with original creamer liquid is pretty good to me, which I probably wouldn’t like it a few years ago.

It Is Official, Electoral College Affirmed Joe Biden’s Presidency
December 14th of 2020, the electors met up to cast their votes, which is the electoral college, and these are what affirms the next president or re-elect the incumbent president. The law is that the electors cast their electoral college votes on the second Wednesday of December presidential years, and this year in 2020, that falls on December 14th. Electors have affirmed and officially elected Joe Biden as the next president of the United States and Kamala Harris as the United States’ next vice president. That is done and said as we will have Joe Biden’s administration starting on January 20th in 2021 when he swears in on that inauguration day. I am looking forward to seeing the changes that the Biden administration would bring for the United States, and what more I am looking forward to what Kamala Harris as the first woman to be the United States’ vice president to do! This election has been challenging, the democracy has won, but it has many scars and is barely standing, which many of us, including the incoming administration, will have to heal. Some aren’t happy, and some are happy. Still, it’s comfortable to know that Joe Biden has empathized that he will not serve only blue states or red states but all Americans as he stated that he would be an American president.
Of course, we must remember that all of the goals that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have will be very tough to make a reality because their goals to be met will have to be approved by most (majority) both the house and senate. Right now, the house stays a majority of Democrats, and right of this moment, it is in control of Republicans but very narrow until two senate runoffs elections in January. From there, we will know which party is the majority. If two Democratic senators won the runoff election in Georgia, both parties would tie it. Still, it will be more on the Democrats’ side thanks to Kamala Harris being a tiebreaker.

2020 Is Too Much For Me
This year 2020 has been too much for me, as some of you know already in my earlier snippets article that I have lost so much this year such as we lost our oldest dog Cassie, then we lost our another semi-old dog named Miss Damien within’ almost two months, and it does not stop there. We also lost my great uncle Glenn; I then lost one of my closest and childhood friends Jimmy Ray due to a heart attack. No, that is not the end either. A few days ago, we lost a good man who was my stepfather’s father, Walter, aka Weasel, and a few days later, we lost one of our growing cats, Sylvester. All of these with the COVID-19 pandemic, as you know, we live in a country that is number one with the most cases and most deaths too, so we are doing everything the best we could to not expose ourselves to COVID-19 by following the guideline but stricter to be safe because all of us (me, my mother and stepfather) has pre-existing health conditions so if one of us were to be exposed to COVID-19, then all of us would get it and I fear for all of us at the same time due to our pre-existing conditions, so we are cautious. No, none of these people that I mentioned passed away because of COVID-19, thankfully, but Cassie died because of old age, Miss Damien died because of her liver failure, my great uncle Glenn died because of the health problems that he has been dealing with for a long while now, my childhood friend Jimmy Ray died due to heart attack and my stepfather’s father Weasel died due to heart attack as well. With all of these happenings amid a pandemic overwhelms us, right now, to be honest, we are pretty much dodging the virus because people around is getting them and because I demand that we watch ourselves in what we do to make sure that we are not to be exposed to COVID-19.
This year 2020, is very stressful for all of us, and I pray to God that it stops there. This is one of two or three reasons that I am less active on the internet because we are trying to deal with this stressful year. I am looking forward to the days that we finally are vaccinated, so that would be one less thing that we would have to worry about because I am tired of seeing that many losses, to be frank with you. Here’s to hoping that the year 2021 will be finally better. Still, I would not value that because I know many people will refuse the vaccine, which means that the pandemic will continue until people are vaccinated. These people who refuse to be vaccinated have been exposed to COVID-19 to build antibody which is pretty much is a vaccine itself but only more painful and more prolonged. I hope you understand that I am not much active this year, and I am still not, but I am writing this snippets article with a topic one by one as a draft to build up the snippets article until I have enough topics to publish the article.

Trump Supporters Displays The Like Of ISIS
For the past few years, I have seen several videos and photos of Trump supporters showing off their so-called loyalty for outgoing America’s president Donald Trump. I am sure that some of you also have seen them as well and I am sure that some of you who is one of his supporter yelling “yes!” sees them obviously or even participate in some of them. I was always taken back whenever I see these videos or pictures, thinking that it’s not healthy. These demonstrations were one of many reasons that we in the United States of America declared independence from the United Kingdom because the citizens and the founding fathers of America back then were fed up with having a monarch in the United States of America. The founding fathers and the Americans were tired of serving a king (King George III, a king of the British Empire). In the beginning, the colonies were tired of being taxed too high by the king of the British Empire, and it started the process of the Revolutionary War, which is also called the United States War of Independence against the British Empire to remove the rule of British Empire in the thirteen (13th) colonies which are northeastern states/commonwealths.
I recommend this book to know more about the war (The American Revolutionary: A History by Gordon S. Wood). I will not talk about that history here as I only merely use them as an example. Trump supporters become fanatic loyal who would go around the country to oppress Americans who protest to have equal justice as any other Americans. Yes, I am referring to the Black Lives Matter movement. Trump supporters also go around the country driving their semi-trucks with large Trump flags waving on the roads. We have also seen some videos where several Trump supporters go boating with large Trump flags waving in a state like Florida and have seen several Trump supporters go around the country on motorcycles with Trump’s flag-waving. Now we see that Trump supporters are doing everything they can to oppress people’s will when they decide that they want Joe Biden as the next president of the United States instead of having their favorite president re-elected. We also see many Trump supporters who like to go around in many different places waving guns, screaming that they have the right to carry them, thanks to the 2nd amendment in the United States’ constitutions. We have seen them threaten people’s lives daily, including the people in the office on the government’s level, such as governors, senators, representatives, mayors, or others. We have seen them plotting to kidnap Michigan’s governor Gretchen Whitmer and to rape her. Whether we like it or not, we have even seen our own president said to his supporters to liberate a few states, including Michigan, Virginia, or others. We have seen Trump supporters who killed somebody in public; Charlottesville in Virginia is an example. We have seen them threatening Kentucky’s governor Andy Beshear by putting up a stuffed-up body looking with a hanging rope and put a picture of Kentucky’s governor, Andy Beshear, on the face.
What does that remind you of? Let me tell you, it is one of the worst terrorist groups in the world – the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), or known as ISIS.
It is a terrifying realization to some of us. From the beginning, ISIS’s goal was to overthrow the government and put it in the people’s hands with the same ideology as they have. Today, we are seeing Trump supporters trying to pressure as many government officials to ignore the people’s will. Once ISIS succeeded, they took over different places, promising the people in these areas that they captured that they would now be safe and better protected than the government they overthrew. They started to go even further by becoming more evil who would murder anyone who does not show any loyalty or agree with their ideology, which also sounds familiar. This is just the beginning, and I must say that I hope that they do not go any further than begging the government to oppress the will of the people and that they finally calm down after they exhaust themselves out. Because this is dangerous, the United States governments must recognize that and do something about it. Even Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) filed several groups of them, including “Proud Boys,” as hate groups and is under constant watch.

We Do Not Need A King or Dictator In The United States
Now, back to the American Revolutionary War. The founding fathers declared independence from the British empire, which is now the United Kingdom, and by writing constitutions to ensure that we are not to have a monarch in the United States, which means no king or queen in the United States. Even America’s first president George Washington made sure of that by refusing to become the new king of America when they tried to get George Washington to be one. It is why the United States of America is a Republic, which that means only the power of a country goes to the people by electing representatives, senators, and a president along with the supreme court to make sure that there is not one person with absolute power which in that case a monarch or a dictator which that is something that the outgoing president of the United States is trying to be but thankfully cannot thanks to the rest of other powers such as a congress or supreme court.
Nonetheless, I know it’s a devasting thing to see a president you like losing the election or is leaving the office due to terms limit (another way to make sure that there is no monarch or dictator). The majority of the Americans voted Joe Biden to be the next President of the United States. A constitutional republic makes sure that, and in democracy, the Americans have decided that the next four years will not be in the hands of a president who encourages hate – an FBI’s report shown that the hate crimes skyrocket ever since the 2016 election.

Finally, White Christmas In Pike County, Ky!
Finally, we have a white Christmas here in Pike County, Ky! We have not seen snow on Christmas for several years; here in Pike County, Ky, we started to get less snow every winter thanks to climate change. The only white Christmas that I can recall was in 1997 when my mother and I were at my grandmother’s house for Christmas. It was a blizzard; we could not drive home from my grandmother’s house, which was about ten minutes drive because the road was thick with snow with a layer of ice, so we had to call in a taxi to come and pick us up from my grandmother’s house to drive us home. That night, it was almost like a fairytale white Christmas, but that taxi driver who came to pick us up and took us home reeked of alcohol so bad. We sat in the back; when we left my grandmother’s house, we started smelling heavy alcohol coming from a driver and just realized that the taxi driver was drinking a bottle inside a brown bag. Thankfully, the taxi driver got us home safely but imagined our nerve, especially a person drinking alcohol while driving on a deeply coated road with ice! A few winters later, we started seeing less and less snow. Snow began to come in January instead of November or December. I loved the experience of seeing white out scenes everywhere, and it is more fitting for Christmas. We have not had any snow on Christmas for several winters as they usually started showing a little snow in January, but maybe the best we could get is an inch. To my memory, today is the first time that we have a white Christmas in a very long time, and it makes me feel like a child. I have been jealous of people who live in the midwest or north of the United States because they get to see a lot of snow than anyone in the middle eastern or southeastern would. Now we here in Pike County, Ky and Mingo County, Wv is having a white Christmas, so I can imagine everyone else is enjoying the sight that I had back then in 1997, although this time it is more of snow/winter storm than a blizzard as it was warned that we would get between 2 to 6 or 7 inches.
You all who live in the eastern part of Kentucky or southwest of West Virginia, enjoy them and be sure to play in them because this is rare! I hope to see a lot more snow before the winter end, so we have about three months hoping for a lot of snow instead of flurries that we have seen in the past for several years.
