Donation and Gifts

So as we know that a few websites or blogs who have a donation button or gifts wish list service such as Amazon where they can list things that they would like to have and anybody can send them a gift by buying something from their wish list. A service such as Amazon, it is already set up where you would pick anything from their wish list that they would like to have then pay for them and Amazon will ship these things that you bought from their wish list to them without revealing their shipping address or your shipping address as well along with any sensitive information such as billing information so it’s a great feature that Amazon has to offer for anyone who would like to make a wish list for somebody else to buy them as a gift to them. Now not many but some websites and bloggers puts the donation button where you can donate any funds that you wish to them through PayPal, PayPal is secured as well like Amazon as they never share any sensitive information to anybody that you send a donation or gift to them as they only show your name to let them know who the donation or gift were coming from although I believe that they have anonymous option but I am not sure of that because I have not looked into it yet.

As I have said above, some websites owner and bloggers have set up a donation page where you can donate funds via PayPal or send gifts via Amazon through their wish list and I am certainly guilty of doing the same by putting up a donate page on here as well.

After a few months since launching JoshiesWorld.com online, I have decided to add the donate page because I truly cannot afford everything that I need such as the costs to cover the server month to month, server is a machine that’s basically has a hard drive and internet connectivity to it so to have a website or a blog up and running. If you tell me that the way I am saying sounds like it is a computer, in a way it is but it is specifically designed to host several websites depending on the space (hard drive) it have and how much bandwidth it can deliver from internet connectivity. Servers aren’t used as if they are computers but in a way they are, a few different ways to manage and one of them are file transfer protocol (FTP). The best way to explain what is a server is that it’s a box with hard drive and hard drive is used through internet connectivity like a flash drive with an internet cable in the back except that the server are larger than the flash drive (towers sized). Nonetheless it is somewhat expensive to run, because usually the only way you can have servers is to rent them or rent some space (tier or the like) off the server at some data center and the reason of that is because most of internet providers’ policy does not allow you to have your own server so that is why most of the servers are running in a few specific areas or unless you have over a hundred thousands to almost million dollars to set up your own mini data center with your own server and pay someone to set up a custom internet connectivity over here so that’s why a lot of people just prefer to rent or pay for a hosting off someone’s server.

Even paying for a spot on someone’s server or a business server (safer option) is still expensive as they can cost in range from $300 to $10,000 as it depends on how much space you need and how much bandwidth you need as the more you need the more expensive it gets obviously. Bandwidth is the biggest concern than the space, space is still a concern but it’s controllable and bandwidth isn’t because you have no clue how much traffic you can get as sometimes they can be unexpected so you want to pay a good space for bandwidth just to make sure that it won’t crash so the more bandwidth you pay for the lesser chance of having any of your websites to be crashed because when they are being crashed it can be a nightmare sometimes to bring them back up running. The bottom line is running websites, blogs etc aren’t always cheap although there are cheap options such as shared hosting but the problem with that is that on a shared hosting means thousands or more shares your space, your bandwidth etc so if they gets too much traffic then your websites will be crashed too and it would still be your responsibility to get them back up running even though they would be the ones who caused your websites to be crashed so that is why sometimes to pay for a server is the best way to go but they can be costly.

So with that being said, I can barely pay month to month bills for all the websites I have which is in around 30s websites that I own and I do everything in my power to keep them up running as long as I can which I have done so since 2007 so almost ten years I have already paid several thousands into it.

Donation And Gifts

That is why I made the donate page which can be found at the top of this website where the donate tab is and from there you can donate two ways which is funds or gifts. Now I have repeatedly said over many years that you never will be required to pay anything to use any of my websites as that is why I have worked and running them for several years at no cost to you because I am more of a giver than taker – That’s just the way I am. It is only optional, if you have any spares you can donate funds or buy a gift for me through my wish list that I would like to have only if you feel like supporting me and even a dollar matters as I don’t care how much or which item(s) off my wish list that you sent me and I still thank you from the bottom of my heart. As I have mentioned earlier here that the donation button which is an option to donate funds to me through PayPal service, PayPal is secured as it can get and you don’t even have to sign up to donate as you can donate as a guest. PayPal accepts a few methods such as credit cards, banking account and debit card. Now as for credit cards, banking account or debit card being used to donate funds to anybody your billing information never will be revealed to them. Or you can send a gift to me by buying one or more off my wish list that I have on the donate page here, the wish list is directly from Amazon themselves so it isn’t a third-party service which that means they are very safe to use and the items on my wish list is coming from Amazon as well since only way to add anything to Amazon’s wish list is if the items are coming from Amazon themselves so that’s a plus.

The reason of wish list and gifts. Sure they may have nothing to do with the websites or anything, but these are things that I need and by paying for them as a gift to me would means that the money I was going to spend on them will be redirected to monthly bills for servers and websites related. There are a few of things that is on my wish list there will even be used for here, such as DJI Phantom 4 so that I can do some videos and upload videos to my channel under JoshiesWorld which they will automatically be posted right here on JoshiesWorld.com too so in a way it’s related to websites because you will be helping me to provide better contents for here and other websites. That goes the same for a few more GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition, memory cards for them, batteries for these GoPro cameras and a couple gimbals for these GoPro cameras such as one of them is wearable where I can do some video while I am on adventures such as four wheeling and one of them is a stick gimbal where I will have to hold it to record around when I am not riding four-wheeler or something that’s not a sport or something that needs both of my arms.

Not only that, so that I can also test other products if I can afford them or being sent to me for me to make a review on them so that way I can tell you if they are good or sucks before you decide buying something that I reviewed.

Nonetheless I am not saying “please help me” or anything as I only put the donate page up for if any of you would like to donate something to me but if any of you don’t want to support me to grow larger then that is absolutely fine with me and I still thank you from the bottom of my heart just for being my follower/reader/friend as they are more important to me. They are just there only if any of you wish to give me something to support me so I can improve better with better tools to provide better contents such as videos or pictures since I have revamped the media page on here as I have started offering both videos and pictures using the only one GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition or the new GoPro Session that I bought two weeks ago but still it’s not enough as I would like to have about 5 GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition.

You can go ahead and head over to the donate page by clicking this link instead of going to the donate page’s tab at the top of the website here. From there you can find the wish list by Amazon that I need to continue grow instead of keeps hitting the ceiling due to the cost.

If any of you do donate me anything, thank you so much and if you don’t donate me anything I still thank you so much as well! Hope to see all of you guys back here again soon as I am trying to think of a way to come up with a new content (article or video).
