Eastern Kentucky by New York Times.

Last year on June 26, 2014 New York Times have written an article with the title that says “What’s the Matter With Eastern Kentucky?” has been discovered by some Facebook users which I am a bit surprised because of the article was written over a year ago and it shows that not many residents in Eastern Kentucky reads New York Times as New York Times is in the top 10 most popular news media outlet especially with their New York Times blog since millions of people have gone digital as opposed to buying the materials which are the newspaper or magazines paperback. Ever since some Facebook users who happens to be Eastern Kentucky residents who discovered the “What’s the Matter With Eastern Kentucky?” article on New York Times website (NYTimes.com) then shared the article to their Facebook wall post which ended up getting more attention than it did last year as there were no Eastern Kentucky residents at that time shared the article on the day they wrote it and ever since it was shared it bring in mixed responses especially in the comments section over at Facebook about “What’s the Matter With Eastern Kentucky?” article written by one of New York Times writer/blogger.

As surprised I was with it being discovered by some residents from Eastern Kentucky, I was surprised to the fact that I was not aware of New York Times writing an article about the Eastern Kentucky until a couple of days ago and after reading “What’s the Matter With Eastern Kentucky?” article over at New York Times website I also had mixed thoughts about it as well like the most of the residents.

What’s the Matter With Eastern Kentucky by NYTimes.com Response

What bothers me the most is that the New York Times writer/blogger named Annie Lowrey told the readers (if any) who may live in the Eastern Kentucky that to save Eastern Kentucky is to leave. The foremost of all that is a very absurd and ridiculous answer to the solution I have ever heard. To top that off the New York Times writer/blogger Annie Lowrey also said the Eastern Kentucky may be the hardest place to live while adding Detroit in the same sentence? That is absurd. East in Kentucky is not the hardest place to live in at all, I would agree that now and then it is a hard place to live in just like many other place including the paradise state California. Surely the Eastern Kentucky economy were booming a few years ago due to the home of coals until Barrack Obama enforced a new taxes law on coal to the point where almost the entire coal mining companies had no choice but to shut down all of their coal mines but that does not kill the economy in Eastern Kentucky entirely as there is some other industries here such as trains (NSCorp), Power Plants, Road Construction, Education (teachers/professors for schools and universities/colleges), Trees Logging, Telecommunications (Television Cable and Internet), Medical (Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacist or others), Stores (Wal-Mart, Save-A-Lot, Food City), Trucking, Carpenters, Roofing, Restaurants/Fast Food Chains, Auto Mechanics, Auto Dealership, Mall, Small Machines Dealership (ATV, Side By Side, Dirt Bike or Motorcycle) or in the recent Pepsi Co opened a bottling group in the very eastern part of Kentucky which is Pike County.

These are just a few industries or business that are in the Eastern Kentucky that came to my mind at this moment as there are a few more that helps the economy for the Eastern Kentucky to float. Eastern Kentucky is no where close to being a ghost city like it is in Detroit as you said which that bring me a question — Have you visit Eastern Kentucky? Because the way you write about the Eastern Kentucky I would think not. If you never have then I would like to personally invite you to visit the Eastern Kentucky then come back to what you have written in your article “What’s the Matter With Eastern Kentucky?” at New York Times and recheck to see if what you says about Eastern Kentucky is true so with you have no credibility as you wrote the article without getting to know the Eastern Kentucky as opposed to going with whatever data-analysis you guys at New York Times have conducted because the analysis that you or New York Times have done is inaccurate or in other word — moot.

Unless the data that the New York Times analyzed on is ancient (1950-1970) then that may be the accurate but New York Times wrote about the present which is again, inaccurate and in fact I am wondering how Upshot Team conducted the data? With that being said, I ask that the New York Times to recheck their facts and to find a better source because whoever the source that they were getting the information from are not accurate. By finding a better source I would suggest using the Eastern Kentucky residents for a better data to analyze then the article they write about Eastern Kentucky would be more credibility because the median income are far off as the median income is the same income that low-class family receives since they get in between $1,000-$3,000 every two weeks depending on who they work for in the Eastern Kentucky.

Now that is my response or my thought about the article “What’s the Matter With Eastern Kentucky?” by New York Times writer Annie Lowrey.
