There is a lot of people who uses Ebay for few of reasons such as buying some items off Ebay or selling some items on Ebay to make some money and a lot of people who use Ebay as their career and it has become many of people’s main income as many of sellers have their own stores on Ebay called E-store. Just recent some of the news about Ebay has bombed all over on the internet that brings fears to several people who has accounts on Ebay whether it be the seller account or buyer accounts or an account for both type which is a common although some of the people who prefer to have a separate accounts for buying and selling is now in danger that needs immediate attention or to take an action about it but there is one problem and that is probably the most important out of all.
Ebay: Shh.. You are hacked!
The most important problem out of all is that several users registered on Ebay has absolutely no idea that their accounts is being comprised which that means hacked and when the news bombed all over on the internet that Ebay several accounts registered on Ebay is being hacked, the users who is registered to Ebay is not being notified via e-mail when many of websites typically notify the registered accounts if there is a problem or if their accounts is being hacked or at least attempted to be and everyone who is registered on Ebay is furious about it.
What most of the people who has accounts registered with Ebay don’t know is that cyber criminals got a hold some of the employees credentials and hacked in the Ebay’s network for two months and playing around with their network and stole the boatload of databases from Ebay and these databases are what stores all registered accounts including all the information on the registered accounts with whatever the users put on their accounts such as credit cards, banking accounts, PayPal account, addresses, birth date and many of others that is stored in each user’s accounts. That means any valuable information that you put on your account registered with Ebay such as your credit card, banking account, address, phone number and anything else that you added to your registered account with Ebay is now stolen by the hackers.

So any information that you have added onto your Ebay accounts is leaked to hackers and the hackers holds your valuable information as a hostage and possibly use them for anything they wish to do with them and share them with other people as well if they want to. Cyber attackers were able to get hold of Ebay employee’s accounts which the employees accounts have access to all of Ebay registered accounts whether it is seller or buyer including their payment information, their addresses and many of others – Any information that is valuable, they are stolen. While the cyber attackers got a hold of Ebay’s employees accounts they hacked into their network quietly and lurk around to gather as much as valuable information, mostly all of it where they got a hold of full databases for two months and nobody is being notified about their accounts being hacked or that their valuable information is being shared with somebody else by sending the registered accounts e-mail to notify them with a necessary action to secure their accounts from being leaked to anybody and Ebay didn’t so this means that it is too late and Ebay still has not notified the registered accounts with Ebay yet.
I am sure that some of the people aware this because of the news is being bombed all over on the internet and what is worse of all is that some of the people had to hear about the problem through some news websites or anywhere that doesn’t have anything with Ebay. This is probably will considered one of the most scare since the 2000 scare and 2012 scare as well and undoubtedly that it’s going to be one of the most remembered hacked on websites in history along with heartbleed. Since this happens it is killing Ebay as a business company in a big way as a lot of people deleting their accounts and has said that it is possibly that they will not sign up an account on Ebay again and that I absolutely don’t blame them at all because I wouldn’t either.
Several news outlet is recommending anyone who wants to still have registered account with Ebay to change the password to something strong using letter, number and symbols and make it a long password that it would be extremely hard for anyone to guess but even with this advice I seriously doubt that it’s going to make any difference because the registered accounts on Ebay is comprised, period. The valuable information is stolen and is stored some of the cyber attackers hard drives somewhere and they can and will do whatever they want to do with them whether to hold them for ransom or to sell them to anyone who wants to use someone’s credit cards or some of payment information to buy something for themselves and use the information for something so a real solution? There is no solution although changing the password can only help very little but they can always be hacked again if cyber attackers wants to because they have all the tools they needed to do so.
If you do still want to have a career online by selling something then I would strongly recommends you to have your own website with e-commerce systems and if you have no skills in developing a website you can always hire a web developer to build a e-commerce website for you and if you are looking for one then you are welcome to contact me as I am skilled web developer or if you rather to not spend money to have a e-commerce website then I would recommend you to do it at Amazon and Amazon security is a bit stronger than Ebay but nowadays anything that is on the internet can be hacked unless you have the proper protection that can prevent the cyber attackers from getting in your account and one of them is having a long password that has letter, number and symbols in them.
Whoever has account at Ebay I am extremely sorry that it had to happen to you being that your valuable information is stolen and it is painful to know that your account at Ebay is comprised by cyber attacker and I hope that you take a necessary action with what you are going to do about your account on Ebay whether if you want your account to be removed which I think it would be wise or to keep an account registered with Ebay but change the password that’s extremely hard for anyone to guess. Be sure to monitor your credit cards or banking accounts at all the time so that you can take the action by calling them to tell them that you did not order anything so that you won’t have to pay for something that was ordered by unknown somebody.
Update: Good news for customers, Ebay said that the passwords were encrypted with a technique called hashing that makes them almost impossible to decipher!
I better wrap this up as it is time for my dinner and I am hungry! Please leave a comment below and let me know what you think about the situation with Ebay?
