I have eaten from two different Firehouse Subs locations, one in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and Lexington, Kentucky. The first time I tried Firehouse Subs was the one in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, when my mother and I went there on vacation for half a week or a week that I cannot remember because we have been to Pigeon Forge too many times for my liking. This Firehouse Subs in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, could be found at 2726 Pkwy (a few buildings down from Mountain Vista Inn but on the other side of the road). I ate there a few years ago; I have not eaten anything from Firehouse Subs for a few years since they don’t have a restaurant down where I live (Dear Firehouse Subs: Hint Pikeville, Ky). Several years later, my stepfather had to go to Lexington in Kentucky because I actually cannot remember. On his way back, he discovered that there are one Firehouse Subs in Lexington, Kentucky, so we figured that since he would be there, he could bring some back home for my mother and me to eat for dinner that night, so he did. I am very picky when it comes to meats choice mainly for sandwiches or subs because I’m not too fond of many types of meat such as ham, pork, and others. I often would go for the same one meat every time I get a sub, or a sandwich is turkey breast, it is my favorite meat for a sandwich or sub, and once in a great while, I may eat hamburger meat the meatballs. This time from Firehouse Subs in Lexington, Kentucky, I decided to go with the turkey breast as my meats choice. What is nice about Firehouse Subs is that they allow you to customize; however you want your sub to have, in fact, go crazy with it, and even if you don’t want to customize, you can take a look at their many subs on their menu for you to choose! I don’t go crazy because I prefer something simple, so the one from Firehouse Subs in Lexington, Kentucky I got was smoked turkey breast with provolone cheese, and pepperoni then have the sub toasted.
My sub from Firehouse Subs was great, their bread was fresh, and the toppings that I wanted were fresh as well, so that is a plus. I know you probably wait to hear something from me: how different are they from the other subs restaurants such as Subway? A good question, and that is a question that I can answer. While Subway has great subs, they have a great choice of bread for us to choose from and the toppings to go with, but what is unique with the Firehouse Subs that I could tell was that the one from Firehouse Sub tastes and looks fresher. It isn’t as oily as some of the subs from Subway, especially if you have them toasted. Because when you toast the sub, with the meats and the toppings can make the bread taste funny or chewy, but with Firehouse Subs, it is as if they toast them separately, which they don’t, but it is taste or looks like as if they did. It says one thing about Firehouse Subs is that they put effort into making a sub and ensuring that it is the sub you would expect from them. I thought it was delicious, and I would recommend Firehouse Subs, so if you see one anywhere, then be sure to stop by them to get some subs because they are hard to find, at least for me. Firehouse Subs should think about opening a restaurant in Pikeville, Ky or at least anywhere in Pike County, Ky so that we could have one around here because there is none of them in Pike County, Ky or even in the east of Kentucky because the closest one is in Lexington, Ky which is halfway across from the eastern of Kentucky to the center of Kentucky. Inside Firehouse Subs, you would almost think that you are in a fancy fire department, so the firehouse subs name fits. The space is somewhat large, has many seatings, and the employees keep the places clean.
Based on that, I have ate Firehouse Subs twice, one from Pigeon Forge in Tennessee and now one from Lexington in Kentucky. I am rating it a 3.8, which translates very good!
