There have been many of game consoles for many of the years especially when the first game console that was launched the Magnavox Odyssey which I am sure that anyone either hardly heard of that game console or never heard of the name for a game console but it was the first game console in exactly 1972 which is practically what started it all for game consoles industries. Because if it wasn’t for Magnavox Odyssey then there may not be some of great game consoles that everyone loves exists today because usually when there something first that was invented then there bounds to be competitors to compete against others especially like the second game console that compete Magnavox Odyssey were one of everyone’s favorite game console, the Atari 2600 which was launched in 1976 to compete against Magnavox Odyssey and that brings even more competitors to compete against Magnavox and Atari so from that the market for game consoles were blooming and a lot of people sees these two game consoles especially the Atari is the money-maker so everyone else jumps in and make their own game consoles and then games for their game consoles.
The game consoles and games sparked.
Ever since the Atari and Magnavox Odyssey launched in the market and both of them begins to compete against others, ever since the Atari launched their Atari 2600 and Magnavox know that it is time to develop another game console so to beat the competitor which was the Atari at that time and Magnavox launched another game consoles of their own called Odyssey two that for the first time have cartridges-based game consoles to the market but only they launched after the Atari released a conversion of the arcade well-known game, the Space Invaders. Even though the Magnavox Odyssey has better options (a second game consoles) while the Atari only improved their Atari 2600 game consoles with a conversion for one of everyone’s favorite game the Space Invaders, Atari dominated the game consoles in the 1980s against a game consoles that has more options especially Magnavox Odyssey 2 due to the first based-cartridges game consoles with few titles.
In 1983 the game consoles competitors crashed badly and suffered by filing bankruptcy because the Atari famous games such as E.T. and Pac-Man were poorly received and an increasing numbers of home computers users that caused the consumers and retailers to lose their faith on game consoles. Not only that some of the game consoles industries abandoned their game consoles and called it quit by closing the industry and move into a different industry but a corporation like INTV bought the rights for intellivision and alone manufacture the intellivision in small amounts while releasing some new games until 1991.
Then comes the most popular and well-known game consoles that everyone loves and remember, the Nintendo NES. The game consoles Nintendo NES was brought in to North America (United States of America) from Japan and it became the highest selling game consoles in United States with everyone’s favorite game Super Mario Bros that became a global icon. Then a new competitor saw how well that the Nintendo NES is making in profits and this competitor is called Master System who developed a new game consoles to compete the Nintendo NES and that was the birth of Sega while other competitor like Atari continued to improve their game consoles Atari 2600 for a while until they realized that they were falling behind in sales and losing the consumers so they came out with a new game consoles of theirs calls The Atari 7800 to compete against Nintendo NES and Sega although only two game consoles were successful which that was both Nintendo NES and Atari 7800 as Sega couldn’t come close to where Nintendo’s game consoles were at, the NES. The Nintendo NES were launched in 1985 while both Master System Sega and the Atari 7800 was launched in the same year of 1986 and then in 1987 the Atari came out with another new game consoles after launching their Atari 7600 which it was the Atari XEGS.
Then a few years later especially in the starting of 90’s there were many of competitors entering in the game consoles market such as Nintendo developed a new game consoles called Nintendo SNES in 1991 although the Sega developed a new game consoles called Sega Genesis in 1989 which is the game consoles that Nintendo compete against with their Nintendo SNES and that was the first time that Sega was able to compete against Nintendo after their failed console games such as Master System SEGA and then many of well-known games coming out such as Super Mario Bros 2, 3 and many more.
Then in 1994 is the year that Sony Playstation came out and became the first game consoles that sold the most which was over a hundred million systems and Nintendo sees that so they came out with the N64 to compete Sony Playstation along with other competitors like Sega Saturn. So from that time the game consoles became a hot thing where everyone must have them and everyone becomes gamers. And in few years later many of great consoles started coming out in the market such as Playstation 2, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox, and then newer version of each along with today Playstation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, and Nintendo WII although Nintendo WII is falling so far behind in the game consoles market today, they have not yet developed a better console ever since the Nintendo N64 which is sadly but that was somewhat expected.

Nonetheless in a way if it was not for the Magnavox and Atari then we wouldn’t have two of the best game consoles today like Microsoft Xbox One and Sony Playstation 4 as both is the only ones that dominates today, although Xbox 360 dominated Sony Playstation 3 for several years but ever since the launch of both new generation of their game consoles, right now Sony Playstation 4 dominate the game consoles market today even if some of the people may beg differ or have different opinion because everyone has their own preferences but regardless both of the game consoles is great and both of the game consoles have their own upside and downside.
My opinions.
Now the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony Playstation 4 is one of the hottest debate like Pepsi versus Coke today and Nintendo WII doesn’t even deserves to be in the debate of both great game consoles. My favorite game consoles is of course Xbox One although I do have strong respect for Sony Playstation 4 although I dislike the idea of getting my valuable information stolen by hackers as their online system is very weak and still is today but Playstation 4 game console itself is great but if comparing the specs each game consoles Microsoft Xbox One and Sony Playstation 4 then Microsoft Xbox One is the winner especially with their processor and graphic, not to mention few of others but Sony Playstation 4 do have great graphic and video as well while Microsoft Xbox One charge to play online which make more sense because it’s not cheap to run very tight security servers like minimum security servers that Sony use for their Playstation 4 online, that explains why it is free and everyone likes free but the question is would you prefer to pay to be safe or to not be safe at no cost? This is one of the reason I don’t trust playing on Sony Playstation online as it makes me very nervous because in back of my head knowing that my information could be in a process of stealing while on Microsoft Xbox One you are paying to be safe and play more safe gives me a more of comfortable feel to use. Again everyone has their own preferences but that is my preference although I do own Playstation 3 and I probably will own Sony’s new game consoles the Playstation 4 in the future because I am a collector of all game consoles and only is missing in my game consoles collection would be the Sony Playstation 4.
But again both of the game consoles is great and both of game consoles has their own exclusive games such as Halo for Microsoft Xbox and God of Wars for Sony Playstation although I very much dislike God of Wars and I love Halo so which one would I choose? Well that is my answer and I still cannot find any good games for Sony Playstation 4 while I love the new games for Microsoft Xbox One but that is just me and some of the people as like I said everyone has different preferences.
If you ask me why am I writing this article? Because I can’t find anything interesting to write about or on so only thing on my mind was thinking about how much the game consoles has changed from the 80s to today for better or worse. Although today game consoles video and graphic quality is killers and the newer games coming out is more addicting and fun to play although nothing can beat few games such as Super Mario Bros or Duck Hunt, as Duck Hunt was my first game I have ever played and Nintendo NES was the first game consoles I ever owned and then Super Mario Bros after trying out the Duck Hunt for Nintendo NES and then after buying Nintendo NES, Sega Genesis is my second game consoles and both game consoles is the greatest game consoles ever. Old school beats new school, baby!
