Today I am going to share my opinion about a quarterback Johnny Manziel who some of the people calls him “Johnny Football” he played in Texas at a college Texas A&M University, I know there are some of the people who loves Johnny Manziel and there are some of the people who hate Johnny Manziel but for me I am in the middle of love and hate, I guess natural. Some NFL players vouched Johnny Manziel especially Brett Favre who is the former quarterback at Green Bay Packers which happens to be my long time favorite team and one of my favorite quarterback besides Aaron Rodgers and Bart Starr but yes, Brett Favre vouched for him and there is a lot of people especially in NFL world who says that they could see the young Brett Favre in Johnny Manziel and thinks that he’s going to be one of the best quarterbacks in NFL along with other best quarterbacks such as Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and others especially in the top 5 QB list (excludes all former QB) and some of the people agrees with that even Brett Favre himself which is a bit odd.
There are a lot of people who has shared their opinion about Johnny Manziel including the NFL former and current players so I am going to share my opinion too and it is going to be shared right here, and it would absolutely be fine if you agree or disagree with my opinion because everyone has different opinion about anyone or anything and if you do have a different opinion about him then I would like for you to leave a comment below and let me know what is your opinion about Johnny Manziel.
My Opinion on Johnny Manziel:
Before I begin to share my opinion I would like to note that I don’t know everything about Johnny Manziel but a bit and I am only going to share my opinion on what I know about Johnny Manziel so far. While there are a lot of people who says that he’s going to be one of the best and that he know how to play quarterback and that he has all right tools and skill to be starting quarterback in NFL and I say, absolutely not. I do not believe that Johnny Manziel has the tools or skills to be a starting quarterback, at least not at the moment but maybe in the future when a team train him to improve his skill in quarterbacking but right now he is not what everyone thinks and says. When some of the people in NFL especially Brett Favre vouched and said good things about him and that they could see the young Brett Favre in him, I think that’s so hilarious because he is not anywhere near it and I absolutely see no young Brett Favre in him at all but I do see another quarterback in Johnny Manziel and that would be Tim Tebow but at least half of Tim Tebow.
If you are going to ask me a question do I think can he play? I would say yes but he’s not going to get all of it done and only thing that he would be good at is a backup quarterback or more so a 3rd string quarterback. Johnny Manziel does have a bit of heart for a quarterback but his mind? No. A good quarterback should have the heart and mind combined then he should be able to play well as a starter or a backup instead of 3rd string quarterback. But again always a room to improve and if he’s going to last long enough then he has a chance to be a good starting quarterback when there is a chance but if he was on my team I would only use him as a 3rd string and put him through quarterback school and have him trained, then in a couple of years I would put him and a backup quarterback to compete with each others for a backup quarterback and if Johnny Manziel shows a better ability after being trained for two years than the backup quarterback then I would change his place from 3rd string to a backup quarterback and send the backup quarterback to somewhere else or to change the backup quarterback to 3rd string if the former backup quarterback still want to play on my team and then train him for few years, possibly five years and if or when the starting quarterback retires or want to be traded somewhere then I would have Johnny Manziel to compete someone else at starting job with the 3rd string backup or draft another quarterback. Then we will see how he does from there and whoever is better when competing for starting quarterback will get the starter job.
That is me but if you are going to ask me if I think that he will last long? Ever since he got drafted on Friday by Cleveland Browns then no way! Johnny Manziel was even unhappy to be drafted by them because he did not want to be their quarterback as if you watch the draft on television then you would see him very unhappy when they called his name but then when the camera spotted him and he pretended to be happy by putting a smile on his face which is fake but very noticeable. He really wanted to play for a team in Texas either Texans (his biggest wish) or Dallas Cowboys but both says that he wasn’t good enough for them and that they did not want him which is a bit obvious because he is not a qualified starting quarterback but either a backup or more so 3rd string quarterback unless was drafted to a team that isn’t great at all, in this case it explains perfectly why he was drafted to Cleveland Browns because the Browns can hardly win much of any game in every seasons and I would be absolutely surprised if he’s going to end up to be a starting quarterback for that team but if he’s going to end up to be a backup quarterback then that wouldn’t surprise me as that’s what I am expecting to happen and beside many of you know that Browns team is best known for failing players, meaning that every quarterbacks gets signed by Browns ends up only being on their rooster for at least a year or two if lucky then they let them go and they ends up not being able to find any job at any teams in NFL and that happens too often. There is a lot of people who I strongly agree with that he’s going to end up to be just another Tim Tebow who won’t last long in NFL. But I am not going to say that for sure because we haven’t seen him playing in NFL yet but if he’s going to play the same way he played at college then absolutely not because when he was a quarterback in college at Texas, he cannot even throw much and hasn’t made many passes as all he did at most was running, which that what he should be for any teams as a secondary running back and that is where he is very good at I admit.
When I was watching the NFL draft and it was Browns turn to have their pick which was 22 right after Packers picked the best safety out of all which is Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Browns picked Johnny Manziel on the 22nd, I was actually surprised a bit because I kind of thought that Jacksonville Jaguars was going to take him which is one of the worse team but the even worser team Browns picked him, that is a bit hilarious if you ask me but at same time I feel bad for him because he was begged so hard to be drafted by Texans or Cowboys but if not then Jaguars, but then suddenly it was Browns – That’s unexpected, at least for me.
