Thought?
Last month I decided to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home finally, after watching Spider-Man: Far From Home I must say that I am somewhat disappointed and at the same time I am ok with it. There are disappointing reasons and ok reasons. The cinematic of Spider-Man: Far From Home is great actually, the actors are unbelievable and these actors including Tom Holland who is the perfect actor to be the Spider-Man along with Marisa Tomei as May Parker and Zendaya as MJ. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the actors for these roles, as I said they are actually great for them so no problem from me at all in that area.
But… The problem is? The script. It is almost awful or just a-ok, for the script alone I almost want to rate it 2.3 but the cinematic and the actors somewhat saved the film a bit because that is mostly the only good that comes out of the Spider-Man: Far From Home. Of course, the entire scripts aren’t awful because I can tolerate them but what I cannot tolerate is the fact that it seems they somewhat downplay or minimize the potential that the Spider-Man: Far From Home can be or could have been. If you watch the first Spider-Man films, starting from the first one with a different actor and the previous one with Tom Holland taking the helm of Spider-Man role is much better so it almost makes this Spider-Man: Far From Home look cheap or like a “good enough” movie. There are good parts, good scenes, and whatnot but the problem is that you could tell that there is something amiss or that they didn’t maximize their potential of making Spider-Man: Far From Home as great as the previous one (Homecoming) or older Spider-Man movies. To be honest, this is a movie where you really can’t put a finger on it but you would see that the movie is a “good enough” movie when they could do so much more and so much better especially in the script or story for that film. I can see the connection between the Far From Home and the Homecoming because it’s their school going on a trip to Europe but it almost makes me want to say “… That’s it?”. That part where he received the special glasses from Stark is great, that area or some parts of the script is good for me and as well in the ending of the Spider-Man: Far From Home was alright to me but there are a lot of parts in between or in the beginning, could have been much better especially where every film after film from the first Spider-Man consistently gets better but this Far From Home did not. It is good, really but I just simply feel that they have A LOT of rooms to make it better.
You would have to watch it to see it, you will like some parts, you will think that the actors who played in these characters are perfect, Spider-Man having a new uniform (also was in last 2 Avengers films) and you will notice that the cinematic view of it is good but you will be disappointed the fact that they did not maximize or do something that would make the film better than their previous ones. Would I recommend it? I would say, yes but at the same time, I would also warn to be cautious that this film does not get better from the previous Spider-Man films. I think they still can save Spider-Man: Far From Home, just a tad bit is if they produce another film that starting from the end of Far From Home and just go for the moon then this Spider-Man: Far From Home can be forgiven.
