Subway has launched new items on their menu and calls them series. You can choose from a few different items in the series. Under that series, there are a few, but for Deli Heroes, it has #99 Grand Slam Ham, #15 Titan Turkey, #17 Garlic Roast Beef, and #30 The Beast. Another is Cheesesteaks, which has #1 The Philly, #33 Teriyaki Blitz, #2 The Outlaw, and # The Monster. Another one is Italianos, which has #23 The Hotshot Italiano, #18 The Ultimate B.M.T., #4 Supreme Meats, #6 The Boss, and #5 Bella Mozza. Another is Chicken has #16 All-Pro Sweet Onion Teriyaki, #20 Elite Chicken & Bacon Ranch, #8 The Great Garlic, and #9 The Champ. Another last is Clubs, which has the #19 Pickleball Club, #10 All-American Club, and #11 Subway Club. If you ask me what is up with these series, numbers, and names, it is sports such as NFL players customized subs; they tell Subway what they would like to have for their sandwich, and then what would they name it? Then, put them on their menu as a series and let the customers have a taste of them, especially if they wonder how their favorite players like their sandwich at Subway. You can check out what these have, such as toppings, what kind of bread, and whatnot, on Subway’s website. I wish I could give you a link to go to it directly, but they wouldn’t let me because it requires your subway location before you can look at the series menu. So, go to Subway.com, click the menu at the top of the website, and then scroll down until you see a banner that says Subway Series. Then click/press that, and it will take you to a store locator map where you will see your subway. Then click/press that, and then click/press the Pick Up Here button at the bottom. After that, it should take you to the Subway Series menu to look at what they have!
The other day was my cheat day, as I have one cheat day each week because I am on a diet, and I was craving a sandwich from Subway. So, I looked up Subway’s website and saw they have many new items on their menu, including that Series. I looked at the list of what they have under that Series menu, and their #6 The Boss screamed for my name, so I decided to go for #6 The Boss footlong off their Subway’s Series menu.
#6 The Boss has meatballs with a ton of marinara sauce around them, with slices of pepperoni and BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella. Sprinkled with parmesan, it uses toasted Italian herbs and cheese bread.
What do I think of them? It is not a boss, that is for sure. The biggest problem was that it was way overloaded with marinara sauce to the point where I almost could taste nothing but tomato sauce which is a bit too much of a tarty taste. It is off-putting. I took out a meatball only to see what it tasted like, and it tasted as if it was not beef. It is almost as if they are stale or old, but one thing is sure: it does not taste like beef, which is where meatball usually comes from. Like they used something that imitate the meatballs, it’s hard to explain what the meatball tasted, maybe like a meatball made at a school cafeteria. I don’t know what your school foods tasted like, but it tasted almost like at my old school, and it’s not tasty. It’s like a fake meatball. They are spongy and don’t have the textile of meat. The mozzarella cheese tasted good, as it should be, and their Italian herbs and cheese bread is one of my favorite breads that Subway makes so that bread tasted good. They toasted the sub well; whenever you ask Subway to have your bread toasted, they would put the whole thing in the toaster instead of only toasting the bread itself. Overall, the sandwich wasn’t that good; it’s okay at best, definitely not the boss and it was very sloppy because of all the kinds of sauces that take over the taste of everything else. The sauce’s tartiness taste and the meatballs’ weird taste do not help it. There was so much sauce in it that I had to use a knife and fork because everything slid out where it had so much sauce every time I ate it with my hands. I gave a piece to my mother to try it out, and her only complaint was that it had too much sauce. I have eaten Subway’s original meatballs sub, and it tasted a bit better than that because they are conservative when putting the sauce in their original meatballs sub, allowing us to taste other ingredients in the sub, unlike The Boss sub. You can see what they look like in real life below, as I have taken pictures of them to give you an idea of what they look like rather than what it looks like on their website or their menu at Subways.
Would I recommend Subway’s The Boss sandwich? No, I never would. Not this one. I wished I got a 6” instead of a footlong because it wasted money as it isn’t worth around ten dollars. I will not order The Boss at Subway again, but that will not stop me from ordering something from Subway, especially my usual: sliced turkey breasts with Swiss cheese and pepperoni on Italian herbs and cheese bread, then have it toasted. Sometimes soon, I will review my usual and favorite sandwich from Subway for you guys if you would like me to! I may also try a couple more on their series menu to review them if you want me to. Please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know. If you have tried The Boss or any others on their series menu, I would love to hear your thoughts on them in the comment below!
As for the JoshiesWorld’s review on Subway’s The Boss, I give Subway’s The Boss a 2, which translates okay. It would’ve gotten a lower rating if it wasn’t for their Italian herbs and cheese bread and the mozzarella cheese. They are good, but the meatballs and enormous sauce ruin it all.
