I have been seeing a lot of Deaf people on social media starts to use a mix of American Sign Language and International Sign Language which can be very confusing for a lot of people including myself. What is more bothersome is that some copy the signs from International Sign Language with American Sign Language, telling people that they are American Sign Language when they aren’t even American Sign Language because they are signs from International Sign Language and uses them with American Sign Language can be very confusing for some. There are some people in a group calls “ASL That!” where they would learn some new signs for some words in American Sign Language obviously since the group are all about ASL aka American Sign Language and I have noticed that some Deaf people along with other people who know sign language (interpreters or codas) in the group or even outside the group would use the sign for people from International Sign Language thinking that it is the new sign or modernized sign for American Sign Language when they are not as they are being copied from International Sign Language. The yesterday debate between two presidential candidates, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton was decent. Last night were the second presidential debate for both presidential candidates, moderated by none other than Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz. There were several ways to watch the second presidential debate, which is a bit overwhelming but at least more ways for some of the people to watch but for live-streaming online, both Twitter and Facebook live-streams the second presidential debate last night. Twitter did better than Facebook did for a few reasons, Facebook live video didn’t offer accessibility while Twitter did and by accessibility I mean closed captions while at the same time letting the users talk about the debates. It was a huge success for Twitter, it comes no surprise because Twitter were the original company that invented in-person live-streaming video under Periscope which is owned by Twitter and Periscope is integrated with Twitter. I have talked about how Facebook have copycat Twitter’s idea of in person live-streaming which you can find the name of the title under Twitter Is For Sale, MySpace and Social Media. If some of you women have decided to change your mind to vote for Donald Trump then I absolutely don’t blame you at all but if any of you women decides that you still are voting Donald Trump then I am somewhat disappointed in some of you. Even though I may be hugely advocate for Deaf community that doesn’t means that I also advocate for others such as causes, things, humans and some more including the women. If you think that just because I am a male myself that means I don’t care about the women rights or damaging the dignity of the women then you are very wrong about that because even though I may be a male but that does not stops me from caring about the women after all I have some women in my life that I care more than anything in the world. Whatever I sees anybody or anything that degrades woman, I don’t appreciate that because after all regardless if we are men or women we always birthed on this earth from what gender?
