Okay, where do I start here? Please note that this is my opinion and over 70 million people in the Deaf community are welcome to share their opinion on this subject as well. I strongly believe that the research done by Anne E. Geers may be biased or improperly researched. In her article, it stated that she studied a different three groups where one of them would have newborn to learn sign language early on, one with cochlear implantation while learning spoken language such as English and one with cochlear implantation learning sign language. In her research, she stated that the group where the newborn who had cochlear implanted and learnt spoken language could speak more clear and better reading than the other two groups. I must ask, did Anna E. Geers herself handpicked the sign language teacher to teach the child sign language? And what exactly did she mean “sign language”? Doesn’t she realize that all other sign language modes besides American Sign Language has proved to be fail and that American Sign Language has proved to be successful for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing child? I am way behind on the hot topic and news on the Deaf community in general, mainly because I have been very busy lately and I could never find the time to write an article anywhere including my blog here but at least I will share my thought about this topic “Deaf Cultural Genocide” that was going around a few weeks ago. That would be better than not sharing any thoughts of mine on that topic so here I am to give a piece of my thought on the topic that was trending in the Deaf community, several weeks ago an associate professor at Gallaudet University wrote an article stating that if anyone who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing decides to participate in the medical or science research that supposedly cure deafness by receiving genetic therapy that they would allow a form of cultural genocide and it would be unethical of them to do so. A four years term is up and we are getting ready to be going into the 2016 United States Presidential Election at this time of the year for United States presidential. We have had Barrack Obama for two terms since the year of 2008, some people hates him and some people loves him as everybody have different opinions about our current President of the United States, Barrack Obama. Every Americans have the rights to freedom of speech, that has been a problem with social media lately because everyone is trying to enforce other people to vote their preferred presidential candidates or shoot down their opinions on each presidential candidates just because they thinks that their opinions is the only matters when they aren’t even come close to true as everyone’s opinion do matters. I can understand that when it comes to anyone talking about presidential candidates for the President Of The United States next year when Barrack Obama packs his things and leaves the office for good due to law that no president of the united states can run more than two terms of presidency which is four years per term. Language is a very important tool for communication otherwise we as human beings would not have a way to communicate with each others, pardon me I am actually wrong because as I wrote that I just realized that the human beings can communicate with each others using gestures or by visual but still a language is what makes it easier for us human beings to communicate with each others and thankfully there is a very long list of languages that allows us human beings to communicate with each others. Each language is in within’ our DNA, in other words our native language that we inherited from the earlier generations or the first language that we learned after the birth so that we can be able to communicate with our parents or to kickstart our education because without language then how are we able to learn? The language is very essential in our life, the language that we comfortably understand and communicate smoothly with others. As of lately I have watched several television shows on Netflix such as The Walking Dead, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practices, House M.D., Gotham, Arrow, S.H.I.E.L.D and few of other popular name of shows which they are the television shows that I pretty much watch on daily basis through Netflix streaming video on mostly my huge 4K smart television on the wall. While I have the appreciation for Netflix to give me something to watch that I wasn’t able to watch through standard cable due to difference in my schedules because every time one of my favorite television shows comes on I am never available or have any free time to just sit back and watch them but I have a bit of problem with Netflix which is that Netflix only carry a year old season of every new television shows like The Walking Dead, Gotham, Arrow, S.H.I.E.L.D. and others. Some of you know that I am probably one of some person who is very impatient and never liked to wait for something before I could get which in this case to be able to watch a new episode after it have been aired through the standard cable.
